IELTS General Training
The IELTS General Training test is designed for individuals migrating to English-speaking countries (such as Canada, Australia, the UK, or New Zealand) for work or secondary education. It assesses English proficiency in practical, everyday contexts.
Listening Module
- Duration: 30 minutes + 10 minutes transfer time.
- Structure: 4 sections with 40 questions.
- Audio Length: Approximately 30 minutes.
- Audio Types:
- Section 1: A conversation between two people in an everyday setting (e.g., booking a hotel).
- Section 2: A monologue on a general topic (e.g., a tour guide explaining a city map).
- Section 3: A conversation between multiple speakers in an academic or workplace setting (e.g., discussing a work project).
- Section 4: A monologue on an academic or training-related topic (e.g., a lecture about workplace ethics).
- Question Types:

- Plan, map, or diagram labeling
- Form, note, table, flow-chart, or summary completion
- Sentence completion
Reading Module
- Duration: 60 minutes (no extra transfer time).
- Structure: 3 sections with 40 questions.
- Passage Length: Shorter and more practical than IELTS Academic.
- Content:
- Section 1: Short factual texts (e.g., advertisements, notices, schedules).
- Section 2: Work-related texts (e.g., job descriptions, workplace policies).
- Section 3: A longer passage on a general topic (e.g., a magazine or newspaper article).

Writing Module
- Duration: 60 minutes
- Structure: 2 tasks.
- Task 1:
- Write a letter based on a given situation (formal, semi-formal, or informal).
- Minimum 150 words.
- Examples: Complaint letter, job application, request for information.
- Task 2:
- Write an essay presenting an opinion, argument, or discussion.
- Minimum 250 words.
- Topics are related to general interest issues (e.g., work-life balance, social trends).

Speaking Module
